Diligence briefs and findings
The core of Deal OS is the AI diligence brief: a structured summary of a target, where every claim is cited and verified against your uploaded documents.
Running a brief
- Upload at least one document and wait until it shows extracted.
- On the opportunity, choose Run brief.
- The brief generates in the background (usually 1–3 minutes). The page won't auto-refresh — check Briefs shortly.
Requirements:
- An active subscription or trial — otherwise: "An active subscription is required to run briefs — see /pricing or contact [email protected]".
- At least one extracted document — otherwise: "No analyzed documents yet — upload a document and wait for extraction to finish (usually under a minute)."
The run only reads the documents you've uploaded to that opportunity.
What a brief contains
- Summary of the target.
- Claims, each rated high, medium, or low confidence.
- Citations — each claim links to the document and page it came from, with the exact quote.
- Open questions — gaps the brief flagged for follow-up.
Verified citations
Every claim must quote your documents. Claims whose quotes can't be verified against the source text are discarded automatically — so what you read is grounded in your files, not invented. As the workspace hint puts it: "every claim is cited & verified against your files."
Brief status
A brief moves through: draft → in_review → approved → delivered → archived. Briefs you run yourself are published to you as soon as citation verification passes; some briefs are reviewed by Devaland before delivery.
Findings (risk, contradiction, missing-info)
Beyond the summary brief, Deal OS can surface findings:
- risk — a potential problem in the documents.
- contradiction — two places in the documents that disagree.
- missing_info — something a buyer would expect that isn't present.
Each finding has a severity: critical, high, medium, low, or info. You manage each finding's status: open → acknowledged → resolved → dismissed.
Risk / contradiction / missing-info audits and the premium (Opus) model are part of the Growth plan and above — see Billing and plans.
Findings become visible in your workspace once published:
Findings appear here once published by Devaland.
Important
Deal OS produces diligence support, not advice. It does not tell you whether a deal is good, what a business is worth, or whether to buy — and its output is not investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Use it to read your documents faster and more thoroughly, then apply your own judgment.
